(04/02 13:03:55) Korov'ev: Let's welcome Max and Snickuster! (04/02 13:03:58) [applause] (04/02 13:04:49) Max: Hello all... it's been a while since I was up here on the stage... I think I was one of the MIY (Men In Yellow) way back then... My part here and now is just to give a brief summary of the past, before I leave over to Snickuster to Inform about a coming Event... (04/02 13:05:10) Max: The first International's Hood was created to give non-English Explorers In-Game Info in their own language. And also to inform about Hoods that had activities, provide links to websites and people or compatriots they could contact in MOULa. All displayed on the Hood Imager. This was about 3 years ago... (04/02 13:05:34) Max: We had also the intention to encourage different groups to arrange their own events. At that point there were still active groups of Russians, French, Germans and others... The WMR were still active. And we took part in arranging some bigger events, too... But sometimes the energies and ambitions just fade away. (04/02 13:05:54) Max: A (04/02 13:06:03) Max: After the "Great Collapse" (or the Vault Wipe) none of us involved felt an imminent need to recreate the Hood anew. But many things have changed lately, or the past year. Now there are more people regularly Streaming Music! We have a lot of new Explorers (at least new names for me). And more people could easily arrange something, and it don't need be fancy, huge or grand at all! (04/02 13:06:24) Max: I've already suggested to Janeerah an Evening with French Chansons... And why not Russian or Greek folk music? Some kind of a Cross-Cultural 'happening'? What, when and how, that is all up to you guys! Snickuster here has created a Hood for all of that! (04/02 13:06:53) Max: As Everybody can do something to try and keep this place alive and kicking! And... that is what Snickuster here is aiming to do... so over to you, Snick... (04/02 13:06:59) Max bows (04/02 13:07:08) [applause] (04/02 13:07:10) skuavi II: bravo :) (04/02 13:07:12) [applause] (04/02 13:07:15) EdisonRex applauds, politely (04/02 13:07:15) skuavi II: hello yutiel :) (04/02 13:07:17) [applause] (04/02 13:07:23) Snickuster: Thanks Max. (04/02 13:09:42) Snickuster: For topics I do ask please be respectful to everyone. My goal is that by discussing these topics, we learn more about each others country and each others MOULa community. (04/02 13:29:52) GoMeDoobes: Lyrositor was/is at university, and many of you know how that can eat up all your time. ;) (04/02 13:30:03) GoMeDoobes: But now...our plans for world domination...are back on track! Mwahahahahaaaa! (04/02 13:30:09) TrapperDave: yep (04/02 13:30:12) [applause] (04/02 13:30:13) Yutiel: lol (04/02 13:30:13) GoMeDoobes: ...AHEM...sorry about that. I wanted to open with a bit of a smile as what I will now discuss is a serious subject. (04/02 13:30:37) GoMeDoobes: As many of you already know, my focus as of late has been the memorial Age, a central location to remember and celebrate the lives of those explorers who have passed on. (04/02 13:30:46) GoMeDoobes: Naturally, this is a big undertaking, with quite a lot of thought and effort going into every detail to make it a near-perfect tribute to those we have lost over the years. (04/02 13:30:57) GoMeDoobes: Storywise, it is one of the oldest D'ni Ages, with carbon dating going back at least 9,000 years or so. (04/02 13:31:06) GoMeDoobes: The name has been lost to time, giving it an even more open interpretation. It was used similarly for what we plan to use it for now. (04/02 13:31:23) GoMeDoobes: The Age itself is very geometrically stable, meaning there was very minimal structural damage. Weather patterns keep the central temple location almost always cloudless, while the rotation of the planet keeps things in perpetual night. (04/02 13:31:38) GoMeDoobes: In short, the Writer Wrote this Age to be as calm and quiet as possible while still keeping it habitable. (04/02 13:31:51) GoMeDoobes: So that's the backstory, and like many things in the cavern, we have adopted it for our own use while restoring it to its former glory. (04/02 13:32:02) GoMeDoobes: This Age will be a mix of in-character and out-of-character elements, and that's for a very important reason: (04/02 13:32:09) GoMeDoobes: You all can contribute to it! (04/02 13:32:17) GoMeDoobes: If you've been here for any significant amount of time, you've met at least one person who has made your times in the cavern quite memorable and fun, but sadly, they have since passed away. (04/02 13:32:30) GoMeDoobes: These are the people that should always be remembered as such...as good friends within good memories. (04/02 13:32:40) GoMeDoobes: With that in mind, I am asking those that knew them to write about them and how they touched your life. (04/02 13:32:51) GoMeDoobes: This can be done through simple writings, stories, poems, pictures, even music...anything you like. It can be in-character, out-of-character, or anything in between. (04/02 13:33:02) GoMeDoobes: The writings can be as long or as short as you want and you can create something for any explorer you knew. (04/02 13:33:13) GoMeDoobes: Note that any musical submissions must be non-copyrighted (ie public domain) or original compositions (for which you will receive credit). (04/02 13:33:23) GoMeDoobes: All this material will be collected and displayed, in full, in journals placed within the Age. (04/02 13:33:33) GoMeDoobes: Music will be played either as cycling background music or when something is pressed (haven't decided yet). (04/02 13:33:43) GoMeDoobes: You will receive credit under any name you wish, whether it be your avatar name, real name, or both. (04/02 13:33:54) GoMeDoobes: I hope that it will eventually stand as a proper rememberance to those we have lost. Not just a list of names...but the amazing explorers behind those names! (04/02 13:34:07) GoMeDoobes: When opened, anyone, new or veteran, will be able to visit the Age and read about those wonderful people who made this game what it is and who were taken far too soon. (04/02 13:34:23) GoMeDoobes: One possibly controversial decision I've made (which is open for debate) is that, while this has IC elements, fictional characters like Willow Engberg and Rosette Taylor will not be included. (04/02 13:34:36) GoMeDoobes: Again, this is NOT set in stone, so if a lot of people want them added, we can do that too. (04/02 13:34:47) GoMeDoobes: Regardless, I primarily want to focus on real people with this project. (04/02 13:34:59) GoMeDoobes: Sadly, I haven't had the time to chat with Tai'lahr to coordinate this with her Explorers' Memorial page, but I'm hoping the material will be submitted there for later inclusion in the Age journals. (04/02 13:35:08) GoMeDoobes nods to Tai :D (04/02 13:35:23) Tai'lahr smiles at Doobes. (04/02 13:35:33) GoMeDoobes: Otherwise, we can figure something else out. To be determined. ;) (04/02 13:35:35) TrapperDave: ^ ^ (04/02 13:35:44) GoMeDoobes: f=Tai and I shall discuss and I'll get back to you soon on where/how to submit entries. :D (04/02 13:35:53) Tai'lahr: lol (04/02 13:35:58) GoMeDoobes: In the meantime, see what you can come up with! Write something from the heart! Dig through those old KI pics and find some good ones...fun times that were had or even candid shots. (04/02 13:36:11) GoMeDoobes: If you're musically inclined, compose something in tribute to them for all to hear and enjoy! (04/02 13:36:21) GoMeDoobes: With luck, we'll build something together that would make our departed friends proud...and show that they are truly missed. :) (04/02 13:36:31) GoMeDoobes: Further updates on the Age itself will be posted on my Facebook page: (04/02 13:36:38) GoMeDoobes: https://www.facebook.com/agesofdoobes/ (04/02 13:36:49) GoMeDoobes: I'm hoping to release this on the various shards (if they want) and offline as well...which Korman can easily do, I might add. (04/02 13:37:01) GoMeDoobes: That's all I've got for now. Any questions? (04/02 13:37:03) Tai'lahr: It sounds wonderful, Doobes. (04/02 13:37:10) Korov'ev: none (04/02 13:37:15) shokhootahn Rehn: Great! (04/02 13:37:15) [X]: does! (04/02 13:37:20) GoMeDoobes: Well, we'll see how the final product looks, but I'm optimistic. :D (04/02 13:37:23) rarified looks forward to it! (04/02 13:37:24) TrapperDave: Whats the name of the Age? (04/02 13:37:28) Korov'ev: best thing would be to have it here! (04/02 13:37:52) GoMeDoobes: I had a name for it, but I ditched it in favor of open interpretation. Let people name it something they like. ;) (04/02 13:37:59) rarified Rubs his chin thinking ... What an idea (04/02 13:38:05) GoMeDoobes: That and because my D'ni is...how you say...lacking. XD (04/02 13:38:16) TrapperDave: ;) (04/02 13:38:24) Korov'ev coughs coughs coughs (04/02 13:38:30) GoMeDoobes: Any other questions? (04/02 13:38:37) Korov'ev: Our next question is from Moulton. (04/02 13:38:37) Korov'ev: [Moulton] Maybe call it Eder E'ternal? (04/02 13:38:53) Korov'ev: Our next question is from Theo. (04/02 13:38:53) Korov'ev: [Theo] Question: Will you include any of the names that are already in the memorial outside of the Kahlo Pub? (04/02 13:39:03) GoMeDoobes: Heh, that's an idea. I'd like people to name it many things...because that's spirituality. (04/02 13:39:10) GoMeDoobes: It's different for every person. (04/02 13:39:38) GoMeDoobes: So aspects of this Age should be different for all...yet coming together in one place of rememberance. (04/02 13:40:10) TrapperDave: Is the Age up in DI yet or somewhere? (04/02 13:40:34) GoMeDoobes: Not yet. It's about 60 percent complete, or as Nev has informed me...Phase 3. :D (04/02 13:40:57) TrapperDave: Sounds like a great project (04/02 13:41:15) GoMeDoobes: Someone asked if the names at the Kahlo Pub will be included and the answer is yes, all of them. (04/02 13:41:27) Thumbs up from Susa'n (04/02 13:41:30) Korov'ev: Our next question is from Snickuster. (04/02 13:41:30) Korov'ev: [Snickuster] Where do we send our poems, stories, pictures, music, etc.? (04/02 13:41:31) GoMeDoobes: Although still unsure about Wheely and Rosetta. We shall see what the consensus is. (04/02 13:42:16) Korov'ev: that is a debatable point indeed (04/02 13:42:27) Raider Fan: bahro just linked in (04/02 13:42:28) GoMeDoobes: That has yet to be finalized, but I was hoping to, with Tai's permission, expand the Explorer's Memorial page with all this work, then include it in the Age later. (04/02 13:42:44) Snickuster: Okie dokie :) (04/02 13:42:45) GoMeDoobes: That way anyone can read it in or out of cavern. :) (04/02 13:42:52) Tai'lahr: Yes, I'm sure we can work something out like that. (04/02 13:43:05) BIG thumbs up from shokhootahn Rehn (04/02 13:43:07) Korov'ev: Our next question is from shokhootahn Rehn. (04/02 13:43:07) Korov'ev: [shokhootahn Rehn] Tsahno means "everlasting" so "Eder Tsahno"? (04/02 13:43:16) GoMeDoobes: In any case, we'll announce something very soon. In the meantime, you can work on things while you wait. :) (04/02 13:43:28) Korov'ev: Our next question is from xai. (04/02 13:43:28) Korov'ev: [xai] Why not put updates in Age of Messengers instead of Facebook?? (04/02 13:43:41) Max: or both? (04/02 13:44:07) GoMeDoobes: LOL! Again, I want to keep the name open to interpretation...at least for now. If I find one I really like, I may use it (and credit the person who thought of it). (04/02 13:44:14) GoMeDoobes: Age of Messengers? (04/02 13:44:16) [X]: https://www.facebook.com/agesofdoobes/ for those who use the book of faces (04/02 13:44:24) GoMeDoobes: The Pub? (04/02 13:44:34) Christian Walther: (also for those who don't, it's public) (04/02 13:44:35) Max: or on the Guild Page? (04/02 13:44:49) Susa'n: Xai probably meant to say "Guild of Messengers" website (04/02 13:44:50) GoMeDoobes: Well, this technically isn't a GoMe project. It's one of my own. (04/02 13:45:09) GoMeDoobes: The Pub was GoMe themed, so that's why it appeared on that page as well as my own. (04/02 13:45:28) GoMeDoobes: And yes, I know I'm wearin' the yellow. This is for the event later. :P (04/02 13:45:38) Korov'ev: Our next question is from Theo. (04/02 13:45:38) Korov'ev: [Theo] Question: Is Phil too fictional to include here? (04/02 13:45:51) Tai'lahr: YES! (04/02 13:45:59) Korov'ev: is he even dead? (04/02 13:46:02) GoMeDoobes: Well, Phil is...not exactly deceased. ;) (04/02 13:46:02) shokhootahn Rehn: Phil isn't dead (04/02 13:46:06) Tai'lahr: Phil's not dead! (04/02 13:46:08) Korov'ev: indeed (04/02 13:46:21) radioflux: Phil Lives! (04/02 13:46:27) Korov'ev: just... brain damaged :) (04/02 13:46:31) [applause] (04/02 13:46:33) Frobozz: long live Phil! (04/02 13:46:35) Yutiel: lol (04/02 13:46:43) TrapperDave: grrr keep to real people (04/02 13:46:47) GoMe_Nev'yn: And besides, he's a few page shy of a book these days, but definately not dead. (04/02 13:46:53) GoMeDoobes: Again, I'm all for including Wheely and Rose if the majority prefers it. Just didn't want to be disrespectful in case it wasn't popular. ;) (04/02 13:46:54) Frobozz: tut (04/02 13:47:03) shokhootahn Rehn thinks Phil's time with the Bahro has left him a sandwich shy of a picnic (04/02 13:47:16) Korov'ev: well, if there are no more questions... (04/02 13:47:23) Korov'ev: Don't run away, Doobes :) (04/02 13:47:27) GoMeDoobes: I can always answer via PMs. :) (04/02 13:47:41) Korov'ev: Our last speaker is the host of the Info Session... (04/02 13:47:48) [applause] (04/02 13:47:50) Korov'ev: Let's welcome Nev'yn! (04/02 13:47:51) Tai'lahr: From my experience, most people wanted the fictional names left off. (04/02 13:47:52) [applause] (04/02 13:47:58) EdisonRex applauds, enthusiastically (04/02 13:47:59) [applause] (04/02 13:48:00) [X]: very nice of you to do this, doobes and tai!! (04/02 13:48:18) Susa'n appreciates Doobes and Tai'lahrs' future collaboration (04/02 13:48:24) GoMeDoobes: Well, to be fair, I haven't chatted with Tai yet. Kinda sprang this on her. We've had a little discussion about it though. (04/02 13:48:27) GoMeDoobes shuts up for Nev now (04/02 13:48:36) TrapperDave: hehe (04/02 13:48:43) GoMe_Nev'yn: Well, to be honest, wasn't planning to speak today... (04/02 13:50:48) GoMe_Nev'yn: This info session will be similar to the one which used to be held by the ResEng, back in the day. (04/02 13:51:06) GoMe_Nev'yn: Just PM Doobes, as he'll be handling the linking to the City. (04/02 13:51:15) GoMe_Nev'yn: That's about it from me! (04/02 13:51:16) GoMeDoobes: Yup.
